Symptoms


Suddenly unable to log into the K2 blackpearl Workspace with the Service Account. Receiving a 401.1 error, "You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied."
 

Diagnoses


Error in console of Staging server that could not connect to Development Server.
 

Resolution

- In a meeting with the customer, we attempted to open workspace which loaded without issue.
- The customer realized that the issue occurred when the new Staging server was running, so she started the staging server, and we were able to reproduce the error.
- We noticed that in the console of the Staging server, there was an error indicating that it could not connect to the Dev server, even though they are not running as a farm.
- We checked the Server.Server and HostServer.Server tables and found entries for the Dev server in the staging database.
- We removed the entries and attempted to load Workspace after restarting the K2 service on both machines, and each workspace loaded fine
