Hi all,

I'm having a lot of trouble getting my process to fire off from a MOSS Document Library event. I've done all the following to try to get this to work -

  • Turned on backwards compatible event handlers for the site in central administration
  • Installed the K2.Net 2003 Additional Components for MOSS
  • Given the anonymous account Start permissions for the process (and all other accounts)
  • Checked that the K2.Net Events List contains the document library, event and process
  • Checked that the SharePoint Process web service is running.

Its supposed to fire on an insert or a delete, and when I upload a file, there is an event in the event log for the K2 Event Sink that the event fired, but no process start. There's no errors in the log or in the MOSS logs that I can see.

What could possibly be wrong here? I know the process works as I can fire it off from a aspx page, but I need this to run from a document library event.

Thanks!!

Did you try running the K2 server in console mode to see if there is any connection being made to the K2 server?  Any errors would also be thrown in the console.
I tried that and nothing is happening on K2 server. There's no connections and no errors getting thrown.

That means the failure is at the SharePoint end before it even hits the K2 server.  Best bet would be to make sure the MOSS tracing service is on and check the MOSS server event logs and MOSS logs for errors (C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft Sharedweb server extensions12LOGS).  The IIS logs for the MOSS site might also turn up some clues.

If you have a support account, the better option would be to get K2 support involved so that they can take a look at your environment.
