Symptoms

Customer has upgraded their Dev environment to 4.6.9 2 weeks ago. The Prod environment has K2 4.6.7. Customer needs an environment with 4.6.7 where she develops and test for her Prod until Prod upgraded to 4.6.9. Prod is scheduled to be upgraded in about 2 months. When she tried to deploy her package created in Dev to Prod, she received the following error:
“K2 Package and Deployment does not support this version of the package. Update the solution file and redeploy”
 

Diagnoses

This error is expected. One of the requirement for using PandD tool is both source and target environment has to have same version of K2. http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2blackpearl/PackageandDeployment/4.6.9/Content/Important_Considerations.html
Customer has SIT environment that has 4.6.7, but getting the following error when accessing K2 Designer:
“Could not load file or assembly ‘SourceCode.Forms.controls.Web.ControlPack or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find file specified.”

 

Resolution

The issue in SIT was resolved after copy the missing assemblies from K2 blackpearlK2 smartforms Runtimein to K2 blackpearlK2 smartforms Designerin
- SourceCode.Forms.controls.Web.ControlPack.dll
-Telerik.Web.UI.dll
The customer will use SIT to develop and test the fix for Prod.
