Resolution

Uninstalling the Framework .Net 4.6 update will resolve this issue.

I just ran into the same issue. I assume Windows Domain GPO forcibly upgraded (replacement instead of concurrent install) my existing .NET or something. Anyway, I was able to uninstall .Net Framework 4.6.1, but then I was unable to run K2 Studio at all! Error message:  "To run this application you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:  v4.0  Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework." Indeed, after removing 4.6.1, I had only 4.5 SDK showing in Windows Program and Features.

I just used the standard Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer), no reboot necessary and I could start K2 Studio and create projects again.
