Symptoms
When trying to deploy a workflow the user received an 'Object Reference not set to instance of object' error
Diagnoses
Upon investigation this was caused be a form in the package referencing a workflow that no longer existed.
Resolution
Manually removed the reference from the schema. After correcting that it was found that there were more missing references in the package and each one had to be sought out and removed.
