We are trying to create a client event, which goes out to an external person, not in the company.  Is that possible?  Can I assign the client event directly to an email address, and have the person reply with one of the actions, in the body of the email?

Thanks,

Hi Decawi

Short answer is No. The user assigned a task must be an authenticated user (e.g. if you use Active Directory as your Security Provider then they must exist in your Active Directory).

You can look at setting up addtional security providers such as SQL - have a look at Introduction to User Managers

One way i can think of is to create a temporary active directory account for this external email address and then delete it off after it is completed.
