Yes I would assume so. SQL server as a product has matured a lot and definetly you will see performance gain overall in terms of resource usage. With release 4.6.1, SQL 2012 is now supported. There hasnt been any specific K2 changes targeting SQL2012. However since the release 4.6, there has been huge changes to the database schema that improved software performance.
