I am trying to create a new Sharepoint 2003 process. In the wizard, after specifying my virtual server url and typing the path to my site, I am prompted for credentials repeatedly and cannot progress.
I tried installing Studio on the local WSS box, but that did not resolve the issue.
Any ideas?

Try adding the user explicityly on the portal site with at least reader rights.
If this still fails the Site relitive URL can be typed in instead of browsing for it. ie. Where the Url of the site is http://ShatePointServer:80/sites/MySite The Virtual Server URL would be http://ShatePointServer:80 and the site sites/MySite

Yeah, we actually tried that. The issue ended up being solved by enabling Kerberos.
