Can anyone enlighten on what backward compatibility UI is? I can find a reasonable explanation anywhere, hard to know if one needs it...
My scenario, installing a new SharePoint 2013 farm, on which I want to recreate all my Nintex 2010 workflows.

Great question Martin to make sure what the feature can be used for. You should only deploy this if you intend to perform a database attach upgrade from SharePoint 2010
This used to be in the old installation guide, but I see the new one is not as specific. I'll see if it can be updated.
