Symptoms

The Autocomplete Control does not load the "Display" value that is set in the Data Source configuration when a form is initialized from an existing SmartBox entry.
 

Diagnoses

The Data Source for the Autocomplete Control is configured to have the "Get List Items" method called from a separate "directory" list, the Value set to ID, and Display set to oType] (the name of the column from the directory list that holds string values). On the Initialize call for the Edit Form, the Autocomplete Control the saved ID value for the specific list item is passed into the control, and the ID displays. This behavior is by design.
 

Resolution

To populate the Autocomplete Control with the associated string value instead of the ID, a Transfer Data rule can be set up in the "When the View executed Initialize" rule to pull the string value from the SmartObject for the data source.
