what is the best and/or easiest  way to achieve this?

  1. user submits a work list item
  2. work list item automatically sleeps for 5 days
  3. work list item appears in managers work list so they can follow-up the work done.

I'm not convinced that auto sleep will be the best solution.  Can you perhaps explain the business scenario/requirement around this?  Is it just a matter of visibility to the manager?

Do you mean sleep ?   or escalation ?

If you mean SLEEP, your workflow would be something like this :

(1) User task to enter work item

(2) User task for manager

< on workflow step (2) you would put a "START RULE" to be 5 days.

If you mean ESCALATION - in which a reminder task would be sent to manager after 5 days and no action ?

(1)  User task to enter work item

(2) User task for manager

< on workflow step (2) you would put an "ESCALTTION" rule to "GoTo" the same activity - ie. re-send to manager >

For both of these, just right-click on an activity in K2 studio

no sooner than 5 days after customer service staff have completed an order the manager needs to follow up on the order.

not an escalation.

Start rule seems to be my solution.

for some reason i thought the start rule used conditions similar to succeeding rules.
i'm surprised to see that it's more time based.

it looks much better than sleeping an item.

thanks.
