Symptoms

A SharePoint calendar list is created which, by default, includes the ability to add attachments to a calendar appointment. After this list is appified and SmartForms are chosen to be used as the default forms, attachment capabilities are lost.
 

Diagnoses

This is expected behavior. Unlike an appified 'Custom List,' SharePoint Calendar list auto-generated SmartForms do not include attachment functionality OOB.
 

Resolution

As of Appit ver. 1.2, attachment functionality must be manually designed for the appified Calendar. This can be done by mirroring the three objects necessary for attachments functionality seen on an appified Custom List: Attachments SmartObject, list view to add/display attachments, and a subview that opens to add a new attachment. Once these are created, the views are added to the forms, and rules must be set up to handle the addition/manipulation/deletion of attachments.
