I am a beginner in K2 so my question would appear silly.

Have the following queries pertaining to the K2 blackpearl workflow invocation.

a. What are various ways in which an ASP.Net MVC application programmatically invoke a K2 blackpearl workflow in asynchronous fashion? Is it usually a dll invocation or do we have RESTful Web APIs which can help us invoke a workflow?

b. If the K2 blackpearl workflow is programmatically invoked in asynchronous way, how will the workflow return any computed parameters back to the calling program? Are there any callback mechanisms supported? 

Request you to provide me inputs on these. Any helpful links on the same would be of great help.
