I was asked to create worflow using Nintex Workflow 2010, where supervisor changes list item status when some task is completed. One of the requirements was to allow supervisor to set deadline for task, then remind about it, and allow to change deadline if the task wasn't finished.

At the begining I send email to user requesting some data, including deadline for task. Then in a loop flexi task is created with 2 outcomes - set status to complete or postpone task. This flexi task has reminder set to deadline. When user wants to postopone task, another email is send requesting new deadline, then loop goes again creating new task.

I'm not happy with this soultion, too many email are being send. Is there any easier way to achievie this? Can I ask user to input new deadline in flexi task email?

could you save your deadline date in the list and use a site workflow to find tasks that are due for completion and send emails then?

above is an example where I send reminders when a document is due a review.
