Is it possible to type values in instead of using the object browser.  For example, if the datafield you want to add is "sID" can you just type this in with something around it like brackets and K2 will recognize as a datafield if there are no other items by that name?

Hi AdisaO'

From what I understand you want to be able to insert values into a datafield instead of the values to be inserted automatically by K2... In that case the answer to your question would be yes, this is possible within K2, when you set the properties of that field you can specify the field type to except numbers for example instead of setting it to "autonumber" because that means you want your Id field to be populated automatically.

Remember the ID field can be changed from the primary key field and set it to anything other field which you want, simply by just changing the "key" properties when creating the field and choosing any other field to be the primary key on your form/view.

You can have a look at the following document as to how to add a data field and set its properties: http://help.k2.com/helppages/k2blackpearlUserGuide4.6.4/Reference-ProcessActivityDataBrowser_AddDataField.html

Also have a look at the Content control document this will also help you understand more:

http://help.k2.com/helppages/K2smartforms1.0.5/Content_Control.html

Hope this helps!

Kind Regards

Nelly

I think I may have been misunderstood.  In my example I'm talking about a data field that has already been created and I want to add it to an event.  Is there a way to type it out and have it be recognized by K2 as a datafield instead of having to always use the context browser.
