Hey everyone, has anyone else come across this issue where email addresses that also have alias's error out for workflow notifications?

Our IT service desk has an alias, when I add their email address to my workflow notification, Nintex changes the address to this:

then my workflow error says:

Failed to send notification. Cannot get the full name or e-mail address of user "c:0+.w|s-1-5-21-140328221-716536946-747242864-82786"

Please advise, is this an AD problem or a Nintex problem?

Thanks

Kassie

This sounds like the reverse issue of assigning a task or an email to user who's email property hasn't been populated.

By alias, do you mean like a shared mailbox? If the address entered does not have a valid AD account username, email etc, it will fail I guess.

Check AD for the address you're entering to establish if it has these details.

I've found out a little more about this issue since posting, thought I would give an update.

If the alias is set as the default address instead of the regular primary email address, this Nintex throws this error.

I've had the default changed back to the regular email address with the alias a secondary and it works.

Thanks

Kassie
