Symptoms

I am trying to add a SharePoint group to Process Right, I want the users in the group to be able to have the rights to Start and View Participate.
However, I have tried searching for the Users/Groups and the groups I was searching for was not returned.
I search using each Security Label: K2, SP, SharePoint. No results were returned for SharePoint or SP, however, for the K2 Security Label results were returned, however, I still was not able to find the SharePoint group to attach to Process Rights.

How is the Search for Users, Groups or Roles performed. Does the process search SharePoint and also Active Directory?

What are the differences between the Security Labels K2, SP, SharePoint?

Diagnoses

You need to first register a SharePoint Group Provider in K2 for the SharePoint Site Collection the group belong in before you can query or add it to process rights/workflow server rights/etc. in workspace.

Resolution

Please see the following K2 documentation for details on how-to register a SharePoint Group Provider in K2: https://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2blackpearl/userguide/current/webframe.html_group_providers.html

What are the differences between the Security Labels K2, SP, SharePoint?
- The 'K2' Security label is typically bound to Active Directory.
- 'SP' is typically bound to SharePoint Group Provider(as per above).
- The 'SharePoint' Security label is typically used for SharePoint Claims Authentication.
