Nintex Forms List View - Filter by custom CAML query example

Hi

I am looking for an example of how to use the Filter by custom CAML query for the Nintex Forms List View control as I want to ultimately be able to filter against 2 fields.

To try and confirm what the syntax should be, I have simplified the example to just filter against 1 field (AMSNo - Single Line of Text).with no success.

<Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='AMSNo' /><Value Type='Text'>111a</Value></Eq></Where>

The above CAML query was generated using CAML Designer.

I have also tried to use the CAML query generated by Nintex Workflows Query List action with no success either.

Have you tried setting the complete CAML query instead only the WHERE clause?

Re: Nintex Forms List View - Filter by custom CAML query example

To close off this query and for future reference:

To get a CAML query to work for a Nintex Form List View control:

  • Use single quotes
  • Only use the portion within the <Where> tag.

So, for the scenario mentioned, the correct syntax is:

<Eq><FieldRef Name='AMSNo' /><Value Type='Text'>111a</Value></Eq>

Thanks, Chris, this was very helpful to me.

I would add that, because the CAML Query Field only accepts a WHERE clause, you supply FieldRef and OrderBy clauses by naming a view, instead of including these directly in the CAML.
