Reset SQL Request Field Value to Empty\Null

Hello Community, I am working with Nintex for SharePoint 2013. I have several SQL Request fields and I am trying to develop\configure a way to set the SQL Request fields back to empty\null thru automation. I see that with SQL Request fields there is no rule selection for "Set Value". I'm just wondering if there is another way to achieve this, some kind of work around. Thanks! Tom

I thought that a SQL Request Control would automatically set itself back to nothing whenever the form was put back into edit mode. Is this not the case for you? 

(I had written the control off as being useless because of its lack of retaining a value, which seems like the exact opposite of your issue...)
