Symptoms

It is planned to install Service Pack 2 for SharePoint 2010 in environment where K2 has already been installed. Are there any known issues related with installation of Service Pack 2 for SharePoint? Are there any actions from K2 side required after installation of SP2 for SharePoint 2010?

Diagnoses

K2 supports SP 2010 SP2 in K2 smartforms starting from 1.0.4 and in K2 blackpearl starting from 4.6.6. Please refer to compatibility matrices for our products:

There is no special documentation covering Service Pack for SharePoint installation process and no known issues related with this. SharePoint 2010 SP2 has been supported by K2 for a long time now. K2 test all releases against the latest cumulative update available during the release cycle, for both SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013. So multiple K2 releases went through testing cycle against SP 2010 SP2 which means that there should not be any issues. SP2 for SharePoint has been released in July 2013, so it is something tried and tested by multiple K2 clients by now.
Nonetheless, it is strongly recommended to test SharePoint 2010 SP2 installation in non-production environment, mainly and especially to see that you are clear on upgrade process itself and all works fine after completion before touching your production environment (as usual).
There are no actions necessary from a K2 perspective after installation of SharePoint service packs.

Resolution

K2 supports SharePoint 2010 SP2 and there are no special actions required from K2 side after SharePoint 2010 Service Packs installation.
