workflow canceled by System Account, DB not connected

 Hi all,

Lately, whenever someone runs a workflow (eg. travel request, leave request..etc) they get a message saying workflow was canceled by System account. After some dig up I have seen that database is not connected, in event viewer it says : cannot open database "WSS_Content"requested by login. Any idea how to fix this?

This all happened suddenly without any chnages made to settings or workflow.

The WSS_Content would be a SharePoint content database and not related to Nintex. I recommend taking a look at the following link to help you resolve the issue.
