Our operation team need to perform availability checks on all our servers. What the procedure for Blackpearl? What request can we send to the server to be sure it's up? Of course, a ping is not enough as it will only prove the physical server is switched on.

Nicolas,

We use WhatsUpGold to monitor if the Windows service is running. We've extended this check by checking if there is an active listener on the server on port 5555 (the BlackPearl host server endpoint).

You can also use Windows instrumentation by checking the K2 Server performance counters. I assume checking the counter Server Thread Count being at least 1 should also tell you if the server is running.
