We are currently using SharePoint 2016.  My company wants to have employee request forms in SharePoint be saved to a general SharePoint list that takes parameters (ID, form type and effective date) after the form has been completed and approved.  We are converting old paper forms into Nintex Forms then using Nintex Workflow for the approval process.

Instead of asking the user to use the Save to PDF feature in SharePoint we would like the completed and approved Nintex form to automatically be saved as either a doc or PDF then save the document to a central SharePoint list that is grouped by employee id.

I've tried the Document Generation & Copy to SharePoint Nintex Workflow Controls but have not been successful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

You can use Document Generation action to save the document in pdf format to a library or "Update Document" action to save the document as "Word document". What issues you faced and why it is not successful? Do you see any errors?

Thank you for your reply.  No errors, just not sure how to use the controls.

Hi,

Please refer to this post, this explains how to use "Update Document" action.

If you want to use "Document Generation" action, you must know the below things and plan accordingly:

  • How many documents you are expecting to generate every year

  • How many free documents per year are allowed in your Nintex Subscription plan and how much each additional document generation cost.

"Update Document" is free and included in your Nintex subscription, "Document Generation" has a limit on number of documents you can generate per annum. Hope this helps.
