Are there any gotcha's or things to worry about with the Pause Until Date action, especially when applied to lots of line items, and long duration (e.g. 12 to 18 months)?

I'd like to start using them with lots of major processes, mainly as email reminders 30 days before expiration dates, but trying to gauge the reliability before I do so.

If you have a lot of items, perhaps you can think on those reminders to be fired from a daily scheduled site workflow where you query the items to be expired in 30 days, and send a notification.

A few questions tied to this:

So is that a best practice, rather than relying on "Pause Until's"?

Does that mean that they aren't particularly stable?

Also, do any limitations come into play when doing a query items (in terms of number of items and list thresholds (5000+ items))?
