We’re having some users of a new form get the following error when trying to submit:

As the form is not technically failing, there’s no instance information available.  The only cause that currently comes to mind is a timeout of the session.  A 3 year old community post from ‘Nicksha’ says 2 hours is the timeout; is this still accurate?

What is the timeout period for a form submission, and is the setting able to be changed?

Hi @JC2

Looking at the release notes, the timeout behavior has remained unchanged since Nichsha wrote the knowledge base article you are referring to.
What is the business case for having a form open longer than that period of time?

Thanks @SimonMuntz . The form in question is quite long, and the work environment often requires the user to step away for a period of time.

Hi @JC2

In that case, I suggest adding a SAVE button at regular intervals in the form.  This will allow the user to save the form before walking away.
If the browser tab is closed or the form times out, it can be resumed from My Nintex under the Submit a Form section.

Thank you, yes we’ve investigated this option, and will likely have to go this way.
