I have a strange problem that appeared to me lately; Althought the Slot Number of the Activity is limited to one; the task which is assigned to more than one destination user can be openned by many users althought it was openned by one of them.

i am using k2 4.5.

This feature -  slot=1 which means only one user can open the tasklist item - is out of the box.

this is a strange behavior in k2.

This all depends on what type of process this is. Everyone should be able to open the item but only one can action. As soon as one actioned the item and one of the other users try it will fail, saying something like the item has already been submitted.

Think if you use InfoPath and only one slot is available if one person opens the item…the status changes to OPEN for him and ALLOCATED for the rest which they should not be able to see in their worklist as the filters should filter that out.

Vernon is correct this depends.

If you have one slot then once the task is allocated this will be removed from the K2 task list as the default filters will remove allocated work.

In order for a task to be allocated when the item is opened it needs to specify that the item is allocated. The infopath integration does this by default. if you are using your own coded forms then you choose in the api / web service if you are allocating the item on open or not in the overload of the method call.

in addition if you have your own custom worklist ensure that you are filtering as per the k2 worklist (or your own requirements)
