ISSUE
When using the SQL Request Control, the following error might occur:Access is denied to the Secure Store Service.
Additionally, the control will not function, and access denied errors will be found in the ULS logs when attempting to access SQL data using the control.

RESOLUTION
Add the Web Application Pool account to the members for the Secure Store Target Application:- Navigate to: SharePoint Central Administration > Application Management > Manage Service Applications > {Secure Store Name} > {Target Application ID}
- Click Next and navigate to the Edit Secure Store Target Application page.
- Add the Web Application Pool account in the Members section.
