Issue

After upgrading to 4.7, the user was not able to look up users from another domain.

The following error appears in the logs:

"Domain /user could not be resolved"

Symptoms

When using the UM user SmartObject we are able to get the users back from multiple domains. This means that there is a problem with the ADService 2 Service Instance. It appears that the LDAP string configuration under the service instance AD was incorrectly set up here.

Troubleshooting Steps

The string within the service instance needs to show as the following:

A) Before: LDAP://DC=ChildDomain1,DC=Parent Domain, DC=Child Domain

B) After: LDAP://DC=Parent Domain1,DC=COM, LDAP://DC=ChildDomain1,DC=COM; LDAP://DC=ChildDomain1,DC=COM

This will need to be entered into the NETBIOS entry once the service instance is edited. Once this has been done choose "Go", "Next" and "Update" the service instance.

Next, regenerate the SmartObject and you should be able to retrieve the users from all domains.
