Issue
The following exception will be thrown when attempting to install K2 Five/Blackpearl CUs or FPs while there is an active session of Microsoft Management Console.
Could not install file: C:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearl\BinSnapinsSourceCode.Management.SnapIns.K2Management.dll 12:12:07:>> InstallFile.Install: Logged Error: Exception: System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlBinSnapinsSourceCode.Management.SnapIns.K2Management.dll' because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
Resolution
In the above example, opening Windows Task Manager confirms there is a running session of Microsoft Management Console. Closing out this session and retrying the CU or FP installer should resolve the issue.
