[Update: 14 April 2023]

Nintex for O365 does not support the changing of the domain name for SharePoint Online. Note the list (not exhaustive) of issues that will be encountered:

  1. The Nintex Workflow app will not be accessible
  2. Runtime issues with workflows that contain Copy an item action
  3. Workflows with conditional start can’t be republished
  4. Runtime issues with child workflows
  5. Issues with Nintex list forms that will require republishing
  6. Existing Nintex task forms are broken

Above are some of the issues discovered and is not an exhaustive list. Note that the changing of domain name feature was released recently after SharePoint Online has been in market for a while, there has been no provision built into the Nintex for O365 products to support this change. Therefore, extensive product updates will need to be made to fully support the changing of domain name for SharePoint Online which Nintex will not be doing.

[Update: 25 July 2022]

Assessment has been completed. Renaming the SharePoint domain will have an impact to the operation of Nintex Workflow for Office 365 and Nintex Forms for Office 365. The domain name changes will impact running workflows and list forms. Nintex does not support the changing of SharePoint domain names.

[Original Post]

Recently Microsoft’s SharePoint domain rename feature entered public preview. This feature will allow customers to rename their Office 365 SharePoint tenancies from contoso.sharepoint.com to newname.sharepoint.com. See the following for more information from Microsoft on renaming your SharePoint domain.

Nintex is currently assessing how this will impact existing Nintex products (i.e. Nintex Forms for Office 365, Nintex Workflow for Office 365, K2 Cloud, Nintex Workflow Cloud, etc. - not an exhaustive list) that integrate and operate with SharePoint Online. As such we currently do not support the renaming of a SharePoint domain.

Once we have completed the assessment, we will provide an update. In the mean time, please reach out to Nintex Support if further information is required.
