Rule to show panel from multiple selections in drop-down list

Jump to solution

Hello,

I’m a new user with less than a week under my belt and self-learning. It’s probably very simple, but I can’t seem to find an answer to this exact situation in the forums.

I have a drop-down list with choices a – e (no default value is set). If options a, b or c are selected, I want a panel with a single line text box to pop up for the user to provide more details. Options d and e are self-explanatory, and therefore do not require more details.

I’ve tried writing separate formatting rules for each option a, b and c, but that just breaks the form entirely. I’ve tried writing a few or if statements, but can't seem to get it right. Any suggestions? Thank you any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Amanda

Hi Amanda,

In short, my Choice control is called TheChoice with the options A-E.

I have a panel with a Single Line of Text control.

I applied a formatting rule with the Hide Ticked or(equals(TheChoice,"D"),equals(TheChoice,"E")).

This basically says that if the choice control is option D or E then hide the panel.

Form also Attached.
