Alphabetize a List Lookup in Form

Hi

I have managed to successfully create a list look up in my form,

External Read List

but I am trying to put this into Alphabetical Order A-Z.  I have already tried ordering the list in SharePoint

but this is not reflected in the Nintexform  it starts with Z -

I have been looking around to see if there was a way to resolve this and I cannot see any logical way to do this except ordering the column in the sharepoint list?  Does anyone know if there is a function or another way to do this?

Thanks

Karen

Re: Alphabetize a List Lookup in Form

Hello Karen,

to solve you probkem, just add a view from your SharePoint list with alphabetical Order A-Z, and add the name of view in your lookup field

Kind Regards

Re: Alphabetize a List Lookup in Form

Hi

I have tried this and it is still not quite working

I created my view

and I have sorted this A-Z

and I have added the source view in the list lookup as suggested.

But it is still showing z-A

This is how it was originally when I first tried to sort the list in SharePoint?  Perhaps I missing something?  Does this only work when I publish the form?

Thanks for your help

You can send me screenshots of your SharePoint list or you want to do the lookup

Thanks

Re: Alphabetize a List Lookup in Form

Hi

The list is as follows it is an external content type read list

Both views have been sorted A-Z on the country

Please note that I was trying to use an "external read list" instead of the external data column as I was finding this making my form very slow to load.  The way I resolved this was in the post below (and the form loaded slightly quicker using this method - albeit not much)

External Read List

However I was unable to put the names in the correct order (hence this separate post).

Hope that helps.

Re: Alphabetize a List Lookup in Form

It's not the same problem I had before, but if you can try passing the default view name ("All Items") to my Source view.

Hope this will be helpful for you!

Thanks,

Zak

Hi Karen,

In your external content type read list operation returning your content in alphabetical order? if not, maybe try changing that?

Re: Alphabetize a List Lookup in Form

Have you tried sorting it in the workflow? After you query the list, sort it in the 'Query List' action.
