How to get a column item from another list in NINTEX Forms

Hi,

I have a configuration list. Which has a two columns - switch and status.

Switch = a section of a nintex form - which I want to switch off / on.

Status = Yes or No (if we want it on or off).

If I can get a variable into the form that brings in Yes / No (for this control), then I can switch it off / on with Nintex From Rules.

I am just struggling to get the column from a list item.

I have seen that JavaScript may be the answer , does anyone have any demo code on this ?

The list is NOT the list on which the form sits on, but it is in the same site collection.

Thanks, Jason.
