Copy item not working

Hello, I am trying a very simple operation - copying from one calendar list to another. The target list was created from a template, and has exactly the same columns, yet I am getting the error 'The workflow could not copy the item. Make sure the source and destination lists have the same columns and column settings'; I've noticed that when I create a test list without the template, and configure the same content type, the copy operation works. Is there anything related to templates that is preventing the copy?
