Create Site Specific Item Activity Timeout expired

Question asked by tnguyen317 on Dec 2, 2015

Hi All,

My company had just launched a new system which developed by an outside IT company.  The system is only used by the Management Department to reject/approve policy. We have built a workflow to execute this processing by using  Nintex workflow 2010.

However since launched, the workflow keep giving out errors, and the IT vendor keep claiming that is not the workflow issue and refused to look into it.  As well there is no error handling catered in the Nintex Workflow.  I’m pretty new to Nintex, hence would like some advice on this.

The commonly encountered errors are:

11/30/2015 9:28 PMWorkflow CommentPausing for 5 minutes.
11/30/2015 9:35 PMWorkflow CommentPausing complete
11/30/2015 9:35 PMWorkflow CommentFolder: Unterweisungen im Arbeits- und Gesundheitsschutz
11/30/2015 10:00 PMWorkflow CommentPausing for 5 minutes.
11/30/2015 10:10 PMWorkflow CommentPausing complete
11/30/2015 10:31 PMWorkflow CommentPausing for 5 minutes.
11/30/2015 10:40 PMWorkflow CommentPausing complete
11/30/2015 10:49 PMWorkflow CommentCreate Site Specific Item Activity Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.Error
11/30/2015 10:49 PMErrorAn error has occurred in Policy Review System - Policy Publishing Workflow.

Really appreciate the advice, what caused the above issues?  Was it because the Nintex Workflow was badly written by the IT vendor? Or is caused by the SharePoint Server?

Appreciate the help and thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Thanh Nguyen
