I am using Nintex 2010 version. I am trying to create a SharePoint list item using Nintex workflow. I want to create the item inside a specific folder available in the list. Is there a way to do the same?
I'm using Nintex Forms 2013 but it should be the same.
You could use "Create in another site" action.
Let the current site as selected.
Then locate your list.
Finally write the targeted folder URL (it could be a calculated value).
Thanks for your reply.
1. I do not have the "Create item in another site" - Workflow Action
2. In the "Create Item" workflow item, the "Action" tab is disabled. Is there any way to enable it?
Thanks in advance!
I've just been connected to a customer site that uses Nintex Workflow 2010 and there is the same action, as below :
Don't you have the same? Anyone else to confirm it must be present?
Unfortunately, I don't see that WF Action available
I have no more idea so I try some large questions:
- What Edition of Nintex Workflow do you have? Which version number ?
- Could it be a license expiration issue?
I believe, this configuration should also be possible using the "Create items" workflow action by making the necessary configurations in the "Actions" tab.. From the environment I work, I can use the "Create Item" workflow action, but the "Actions" tab is disabled.. Any suggestions why it might be disabled or how can this be enabled?
Actually, "Action" tab is what you get on the default configuration form (as in your screenshot).
The question still is why are these buttons greyed out?
Hi Sivacharan Somalinga,
For the actions greyed out issue, you might want to check the following articles:
Why are my Nintex 2010 workflow designer buttons grayed out?
The specified item was not found.
Could be some browser incompatibility / master page issues.
The greying of the buttons were due to IE issues. It is now appearing fine. Thanks!
You might not have it due to the fact of the edition you are running, there are some actions you don't get between regular and enterprise edition.
Hi, Sivacharan Somalinga, If you have a solution, please select a "correct answer," as it's helpful for other community members looking for answers like yours. Thank you!
Hi Frank Field
I still do not have the solution to my original problem.. Only the greyed out issue is resolved..
I am also using Nintex Workflow 2010. You must determine if the Create item in another site has been enabled for your site collection by the farm administrator. Go to: Site Settings - Manage allowed actions (under Nintex Workflow). Verify that Create item in another site is listed as an allowed action for your site (should be under the Library and lists category). If it does not show up on this list as an allowed action - talk to your farm admins to get it enabled. Hope this helps!
It seems like the "Create item in another site" is disabled in our farm due to some issues.. So, let me wait and see if there is any other alternate approach to create items within a folder..
Best would be to resolve the Create Item in another site issue you have rather than trying to work around it.
That said, you could try to use a Web Service Lists.asmx "UpdateListItem".
I know it says update, but you can create new items with it.
