I have a section on my form where there are 7 single line textbox. I don’t need all the boxes completed but would like a minimum of 3 of the 7 to contain data (no particular combination) Is this possible?
You could also use a Validation Rule, with a such formula :
I tested it with 2 required fields on 3. You'll just have to adapt it with your context
On these text field controls which you need in settings validation section set Required to Yes or expression if you Want to show on some kind of expression.
thanks Donastas, I don't want to make all the fields required fields, its just that of the 7 in particular on my form - I would like the user to have entered data into at least 3 - which 3 I don't actually care. I'm not sure how to apply your solution to this effect
Maybe i understand you wrong, but if you need only 3 fields to be required so only on those 3 fields set required to yes.
my problem is that I want them to have to fill in at least three but I don't want to specify which 3 of the seven. It can be any 3 of the seven if that makes sense
Now i understand what do you want
issue: false, pages: false}After filling those fields you will need to set that object properties to true. And on submitting form you will need to check how many properties already are set to true ? If it is < then 3 throw an error.
Nice solution Pierre Fudala
This solution is great! Thanks Pierre Fudala
Thank you Pierre this works great and was an easy to understand and implement!
Hi, Santhea Vallipuram, assuming this works for you, please select Pierre's answer as correct. Thanks!
Is the rule applied to the submit/save button?
