In a workflow, is there a way to disable/remove IRM from a document that has been set on the library.
Pam, from what I know about SharePoint, you cannot use a workflow to disable IRM.
If that were possible, you can only imagine what users would do to alter governance policies.
Eric - Thanks for your reply. Yes, you're right and we do not want to open that door. We currently have IRM set on our Policies and Procedures Library. Each of these documents have designated review dates and when it's reached, a copy of the procedure is being moved into another library in which only Leaders have access to, where IRM is not set. It was working for quite awhile and allowing co-authoring. For some reason though, now users are receiving a pop-up asking if they'd like to request permission from our Published Library. We're not sure what has caused this.
Check the policies in the site collection or look at the web app user policiy to see if a GPO or something changed. Also check and ensure that they have the correct permissions to the libary.
