Nintex upgrade to SharePoint 2016

Question asked by krishnachaluvadi on May 2, 2018

Hi,

I am going thru Nintex upgrade to SharePoint 2016 , and want to use the existing Nintex configuration database from SP2013.

As per the article, I understand that to backup and restore the configuration database to SQL Server (of SP2013) and then execute the "_PrepareForNewEnvironment" stored procedure (Step 1).

Then backup and restore (migrate) the prepared database to SP 2016's SQL instance and configure it to use with Nintex Workflow 2016.

My question is,

1. Do I need to execute the "_PrepareForNewEnvironment" in SQL of SP2013 or SP2016?

2. In the case of SP2010 to SP2013, _PrepareForNewEnvironment was done in SP2013's SQL instance, i.e destination location. why it is different in SP2016 scenario?
