Slow workflows

Question asked by stevehuntersynergy on Nov 7, 2017

With the Timer Service for SharePoint Workflows at a default setting of 5 minutes, running Nintex workflows using state machines can sometimes take a “long” time while it awaits for the Timer Service to come around to execute a state change.

Do you have any experience with this, or advice / recommendations on reducing the frequency of the Workflow timer job?

For testing purposes I’ve set this to 2 minutes and will attempt to see if there are any adverse effects, but I’m wondering if there are other things I should be wary of with this reduced setting?
