the Nintex workflow action "Pause for.." breaks if the user is having "Contribute" or "Edit" access.
The action works fine when I change the permission back to "Full Control"
Can you add the Pause action to its own action set and then run the action set with Workflow owner permissions?
This will allow you to get away from giving the Initiator full control.
are you sure pause action is failing? what's the error message?
pause action do not perform any changes to list item, so it doesn't depend on user permission.
I would say some previous action that made changes to the item (eg. update item) is effectivelly being executed during pause and causing problems.
see following blogpost what might be reasons Designing your Workflow - Commit Pending Changes Action NW2010 & NW2013
I am getting error as Access Denied. all previous action execute well, but it fails on pause.
Did you try adding the pause action to the Action set action and run it as workflow owner?
Looks like I can only use action set at the top (parent action). however my pause action is in middle of other actions..
Yes you are right. And just for a test, if you put the whole workflow in an actions set and run as workflow owner?
ya, it works that way ...
