Our company does not want all users to have the ability to use the Create Sites provisioning function in Nintex Workflow. Is there a way to restrict who can create sites in Nintex Workflow?
You can manage which actions are available/not available for workflow designers in Nintex Workflow on-premise. These actions can be managed at the Farm level, Site Collection level, and Site level.
At the Farm level, log into SharePoint Central Administration and go to Nintex Workflow Management. Then click on the "Manage allowed actions" link. All actions are available by default. From here, you can remove the action for everyone in the farm by unchecking the box by the action. You can also set permissions on the action to make it available only for certain users by selecting the action and clicking "Edit permissions" in the Ribbon.
You can also manage the workflow actions at the Site Collection and Site levels. Go to the Site Settings for your site and click on "Manage allowed actions" in the Nintex Workflow Management section. Most likely the workflow actions are inheriting their settings, so select "Stop inheriting actions" from the Ribbon. From there you can disable the workflow action by unchecking the box or edit permissions on the action for the site collection/site.
