At this moment we are running NW2010 2.3.10.When we roll-out IE10 or IE11 to our PC's, which users can expect issues with 2.3.10, end-users, developers of both?
Are you using any custom SharePoint Masterpage?
It will be fine if you upgrade to latest version if in your custom master page did not defined any meta tag like http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge"
I also sent my question to your helpdesk, their answer was:
'You will face issues with the Nintex workflow designer. In that the ability to drag and drop actions and/or configure actions will not be there.
The only option would be to use your browser in compatibility mode, which may allow you to configure workflows, but if you still face issues, your environment would be in an unsupported state'
We have decided to install the latest Nintex update, thanks for your response.
Thank you Gert. That said could someone from Nintex please confirm this for me please? We are also on 2.3.1 and are planning on rolling out IE11. Also if you could comment on Nintex Forms and Nintex Workflow for Project Server it would be very helpful as well. Better yet if there is documentation already available that you could point me to it would be great. Thank you in advance.
Support for Internet Explorer 10/11 was added during the following updates for Nintex Workflow:
Nintex Workflow 2013 Product version: 22.214.171.124
Nintex Workflow 2010 Product version: 126.96.36.199
You can find this information in the release notes of the product which can be found here:
Thank you Andrew. What about Nintex Forms and Nintex Workflow for Project Server?
I can't recall this being an issue with Nintex Forms. I believe it was only an issue with the workflow designer. Nintex workflow for project server requires Nintex workflow to be installed and uses the already in place designer so the above reply should answer your question.
So to be clear it doesn’t matter what version of Nintex Forms you are using at design or runtime you will be supported when using IE11.
As for Nintex Workflow for Project Server, as long as Nintex Workflow is 2.3.13 or greater it doesn’t matter what version of Nintex Workflow for Project Server is.
That is correct.
I did as you instructed but I cannot easily find in the release notes where it states "IE11 support has been added". Can you please help me understand how I can find this information on my own. It should be very straight forward to do so. Thank you.
Please scroll down to version 2.3.13 in the following document:
Nintex Workflow 2010 - Release Notes
You will see the following:
Product version: 188.8.131.52Database version: 184.108.40.206Release date: 8th May 2014
Product version: 220.127.116.11Database version: 18.104.22.168
Release date: 8th May 2014
in my case if i force the page mode to "Edge" with the following tag in the <head>:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge"/>
I can't use the Workflow designer (2010) anymore. The vertical scroll bar doesn't work, and if I open an action, the form is not filled.
I need to enforce at list the IE9 compatibility level, but I have the same problem with that.
Is there a way around this?
For 2010, there is one setting in Global Settings under Nintex Workflow Management, where you can set MasterPage for workflow designer. See whether that option will help or not. Because it depends which master page you are trying to override X-UA-Compatible meta tag.
