I'm not sure whether the out-of-the-box Approval Task form provides Task Delegation control which allows approve to reassign task to someone else.
the flexi task action definitely does if you tick the "allow delegation" box in the action configuration.
Be aware that the "allow delegation" checkbox only decides if regular users can delegate the tasks.
If you uncheck this option, the task delegation control will still be available for users with full control.
Where can I set Allow Delegation setting? Is it in Edit Task form or in Assign a Task setting? I can't seem to find it.
Thank you very much for your support.
It's in the task configuration:
How about Nintex Workflow for Office 365?
Thank you Cassy!
Oh sorry Thuan Nguyen I've only ever used on prem. May be easier to get Frank Field to move this to the o365 space?
You can't delegate tasks using any of the task approval task actions like the on-prem version.
I have a workflow with a task that requires delegation by a team. I've got a task form with a Person/Group field and then the To: inside the task process goes to the Current Item:Person that gets selected.
Of course, the team would like to be able to re-delegate if the delegated person is unable to complete, but we can't do that ;-(
Did you find any solution/workaround for the scenario of delegation as it's a nature? Or customization is required?
Your suggestion would be very much appreciated!
You could use a Start a Task Process and include a group of people and say only one person needs to approve. You still can't delegate, but that group of people can be told not to respond unless they can do it.
You might be able to use a State Machine with a Task Process inside with an outcome of "Delegate" which then has a Set Next State to return back to that State and an Approve outcome which continues.....although you'd need to test it.
