Issue

When attaching images into the SmartForm attachment control, the control will rotate the image that was originally saved as portrait. When attaching an image in its original "landscape" format, the SmartForm control leaves it as it is.

Symptoms

The Smartform attachment control will involuntarily rotate portrait images when you attach them on the control.

Resolution

This issue occurs when the image that you are trying to attach has "EXIF metadata" which will force Windows to display the image as upright.
The moment you attach it on the SmartForm control it will display sideways (which is the original image orientation).

If you want images to appear upright in the control you have to remove the EXIF data from the image using the following website:
https://www.verexif.com/

To have the image display upright in both the control and Windows is to remove the EXIF data with the method mentioned above, then edit the image in MS Paint, rotate it, and save it as a new image. This way it will not have EXIF data, and the image will be upright as its TRUE state.
