"404 NOT FOUND" Error When Running the Registration Wizard for SharePoint Online

Issue

When running the registration wizard in SharePoint Online for an on-prem K2 environment, a "404 Not Found" error occurs. This error occurs after the Relying Parties and App Only screens that configure K2 Trust. The URL of the error page will end with '?rpGuid=[GUID_VALUE]' like in the image below.

Resolution

The issue can be resolved by updating your K2 Five for SharePoint app. Certain steps need to be taken depending on how the app was added to the App Catalog. 

 

Scenario 1: The app was manually uploaded and deployed using the K2 installation media 

  1. Download the new app using the download link
  2. Upload the new app into the Apps for SharePoint list 
  3. Go to Site Contents 
  4. Go to the About page for the K2 Five for SharePoint app 
  5. Click the Get It button to upgrade the app 
  6. Select the Trust It button when the trust.k2.com window appears 
  7. Run the registration wizard 
  8. Visit Manage App Activations to re-activate your site collections. Make sure to select the Activate All button on the Activate Site Collection screen to force a re-activation

 

Scenario 2: The app was downloaded from the SharePoint app store

  1. Download the new app using the download link
  2. Upload the new app into the Apps for SharePoint list 
  3. Open Properties for the uploaded app 
  4. Fill in the fields as per our documentation 
  5. Click Save 
  6. Go to Site Contents 
  7. Delete the K2 Five for SharePoint app 
  8. Go to Site Setting and open the Recycle Bin 
  9. Delete the K2 Five for SharePoint app from here 
  10. Visit the Second-Stage Recycle Bin 
  11. Delete the K2 Five for SharePoint app from here as well 
  12. Go back to Site Contents 
  13. Select Add an app 
  14. Select the From Your Organization on the left 
  15. Select the K2 Five for SharePoint app from here 
  16. Run the registration wizard 
  17. Visit Manage App Deployments from the app and add your site collections 
  18. Visit Manage App Activations to re-activate your site collections. Make sure to select the Activate All button on the Activate Site Collection screen to force a re-activation
