The email body is blank if Send an Email action triggered from a workflow that has been imported

Issue

A Send an Email action sent a blank email to the recipients when a workflow triggered by an imported workflow even though the body of the email has a text. 

 

Resolution

  1. Remove the current item reference in the email body.
  2. Re-insert the current item reference 
  3. Publish the workflow. 

 

Additional Information

For a workflow that has been imported from an exported workflow file, the Current Item: Insert References on the email body needs to be re-configured.
