Issue

If a Go To Activity is performed on a workflow after it passes a Merge step, when it reaches the Merge step again it does not continue if the other path(s) have previously been completed.

Symptoms

For example, look at the design of this Workflow:

When running an instance of this Workflow, and you're using the Go To Activity to skip the Timer Activity on the left, the workflow does not complete successfully:

Resolution

This is by design, and not a bug.

Please note

  • Use the Go To Activity Function as a last resort when working with the Split function.
  • When using the Go To Activity Function in a Split step, the other alternative paths will be ignored, we suggest using the Go To Activity from the beginning of the Split step.
  • If you have passed the Merge step, avoid using the Go To Activity Function to go back within the Split step - we suggest using the Go To Activity from the beginning of the Split step.
