Issue
Error when running a DocGen Package for specific records (or all records) is throwing the error message:
There is a problem with the syntax of one or more hyperlinks or mailto links in the document.

Resolution
This error will occur if your document contains either a rich text field or a formula field. The error is thrown as there is a validation that we have put in to avoid the DocGen process from breaking due to a malformed URL.
- Rich Text Field
- If your document contains a rich text field and your package is throwing this error, see if there are any malformed URLs in your rich text field that needs to be removed and replaced.
- Typically for Rich Text Fields, we recommend doing the formatting of the text within the Rich Text Field to avoid any issues. Best practice would be to copy-paste from an application such as Notebook and then into the Rich Text Field to strip out any additional formatting your text may have
- If your document contains a rich text field and your package is throwing this error, see if there are any malformed URLs in your rich text field that needs to be removed and replaced.
- Formula fields
- If your document does not include any rich text field but have formula fields that are using functions such as HYPERLINK, this can also cause the same error
- If you are only using text value of the formula field, we recommend either removing these functions or create a formula field that brings in only the text value of the field
