ISSUE
When viewing the ULS logs, the following error might appear:
Nintex.Workflow.NWActionExecutionException:
Failed to start workflow. ---> System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: The profile for the user is a temporary profile.
The error will correspond with a workflow failing to start without reporting an error in the workflow history.
ERROR CODE
RESOLUTION
Determine which account is being used by the application pool and logon onto the server which generated the error. Windows will then generate a local profile for the account used by the app pool. This might need to be performed on multiple WFE servers.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This occurs when the Application Pool account associated with the W3WP.exe service is attempting to generate a cryptographic key however it is missing a local profile on the server.
